Preparing for your session: What to expect...

I am so happy you have chosen me to capture this incredibly special moment in your family's life! Thank you from the bottom of me heart. It means a lot to be part of your adventure. Here is what you can expect when you come into my studio.

I have a four bedroom home in South San Jose near Martial Cottle Park. There is usually plenty of parking out front. Feel free to park in the driveway if you have arrived on a weekday as well.

My husband always jokes that I have most of the rooms in the house, and it's true. We have 4 bedrooms upstairs. All 3 of my kiddos are in 1 of them. I have my room, and two of the upstairs bedrooms are dedicated to my business. You will come into the guest room/office where I do my editing, set your things on the bed, and start getting baby out and ready for their session. There is a changing table, diaper genie, and a nursing rocking chair. This is your space to sit, rest, change into clothes for your family portraits, etc. We will do all the photography in my small studio across the hall from there.

My studio always has the white noise machine going and it is warm, 80 degrees for baby's comfort. I usually start with it warm, because often the babies are ready to get in the shots on the posing table first, and these usually involve a baby that isn't wrapped much or at all. We want baby to be warm, so please dress in cool clothes so you don't get too warm as well.

I can fit at most 3 adults other than myself in the studio at one time. My studio is small, which works perfectly to keep it comfortable and warm for my very tiny clients. But if you get too warm or want a bit more space there is always the room across the hall to take a break in. Typically both parents stay with me, because they love to watch me pose their little ones, but if baby has a sibling, I recommend you stretch out and use the guest room across the hall.

You will be in my studio for 2-3 hours. I have had families stay as little as 1.5 hours and a few as long as 4. I work hard to get shots you love and to keep baby happy. So we are on baby's schedule. Prepare yourself and bring enough diapers, bottles, and snacks for you and any family members.

Please let me know if you have any concerns ahead of time or any time constraints. I'm happy to accommodate as much as possible. If you want sibling shots first, just let me know.

I can't wait for you to visit and to turn your memories into art.
